BlackJack rules
The object of our free online blackjack game is to end up with a higher point total than the dealer without going over 21. Our online face cards (such as Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth 10 points. Aces are worth 1 or 11, whichever works for you. Other cards are represented by their number, of course.

Playing Online Blackjack
Before receiving any online cards you must place a wager. Then, you are dealt two cards face up. Your online dealer gets one face up, one face down. Then, using 'hit', 'stand', 'split', 'double', 'insurance', and 'even money', you will attempt win by getting closer to 21 than the dealer without going over 21. Once you are done with your hand, the dealer turns up the down card. By rule, on counts of 17 or higher the dealer must stay; on counts of 16 or lower the online dealer must draw. Once the online player and dealer 'Stand' your hand is compared to the dealer's. If the online player and the House tie, it is a push and no one wins. If the online Player is higher she wins at 1 to 1 unless she was dealt an Ace and 10 (Blackjack) in which case she wins at 3 to 2 odds. If the online ealer is closer to 21 without going 'bust' the dealer will win and take your bet. During online Blackjack play, there are a number of options to consider:
  • Hit: Have the online dealer give you another card
  • Stand: Here, you choose to make no more moves in our free online Blackjack, and wait to see what the online dealer has
  • Insurance: Side bet of half the initial bet against the online dealer having a natural 21 - allowed only when the online dealer's showing card is an Ace. If the dealer has a 10 face down and makes a blackjack, insurance pays at 2 to 1. (A lot of people say never to use insurance. But, it's your call.)
  • Double Down: Immediately after you have been dealt your first two cards in our Blackjack game, you may ask to double down. This doubles your initial bet, and the dealer will give you one card and then end your turn for the game.
  • Even Money: Cashing in your online bet immediately at a 1:1 payout ratio when you are dealt a natural, online blackjack and the dealer's showing card is an Ace.
  • Split Hand: Split the initial, online, two-card hand into two and play them separately. This is allowed only when the two first cards are of equal value. Use each card as the start to a separate hand and place a second online bet equal to the first. But remember, you never lose money at Great Day Games, you only WIN Treats!
