why does my golf ball keep flying off the screen? lol!!

Umm.
I've been playing this game for like 3 mintues and already I've completely screwed up.
Nearly everytime I get a new ball and click it, it goes flying off the screen!! Like really!
I can have like the smallest amount of hit power and the ball will completely soar off the screen and wont come back!
WTF?! lol!
