To svenni, I know in reality that a new computer would work wonderfully,
and I would love to have a new one...
but my budget won't allow it... Laughing Laughing it won't even think of it.

Gloria, I don't open attachments either.
And I very seldom download anything.
In fact the last thing I attempted to download
wouldn't download. A box popped up and said 'unable to download'.
I have no idea why, it was a site I had downloaded from before.
Three things that I really wonder about:
1) GDG runs so slowly, no other sites do.
2) When I get shut down while playing a game,
there is a big box comes up where the game should be displayed
with a large gray (shadowed) ' Exclamation ' in the center.
3) At times it sounds like my computer has turned into an airplane,
I'm pretty sure it is the CPU output going crazy, and it drives me crazy Smile
If I could figure those three issues out it would make me happy.
I figure the slowness is something that needs cleaning out,
but I'm always afraid that if I clean something out
it will be something that I shouldn't have fooled with
and I will have a different problem then.
Once I was cleaning things I thought I no longer used
and I wound up with no progress on progressive games.
I don't know what it was that I deleted that I shouldn't have
so I don't do that anymore. I let my hubby when he's here
or I have a friend that will help me sometimes.
Talk about 'long winded' Smile Smile I'm one of the best at that Smile Smile

Merry, merry Christmas to you and yours Exclamation Exclamation

Well, the site is running so slow for me this morning
that there is no point in me even trying to play anything.
The pages are loading so slow I could scream.
I even went to Google Chrome, but it was the same there.
Hope y'all have fun.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas.

Merry Christmas to you, ConnieLea, and to everyone else who reads the Forum pages. We have a fresh snow here in Iowa and that makes it very "Christmas-y." I'm thankful for the snow. Smile

Backatcha' Gloria Exclamation Exclamation
Our weather for Christmas day was 75 degrees and raining.
VERY unusual for our weather.

GDG is moving so slow today that I scored 3500 on Treasure Hunt,
a game that I normally would score in the 70s or the high 80s on.
I couldn't get through a game of Stunt Armadillos.
So I'll post my usual in the Forums and go on to another site.

I've tried to play on RoyalGames. I can register but I am not permitted to make a "friend" yet. I'll try again. I don't give up too easily! Smile
By the way, we're expecting a big snow storm in a few hours, with maybe 7-10 inches of snow and strong winds. Now this is a real winter day! Brrrr!

Gloria, I don't know if it is you or not,
I sent a Question to 'Gloriabus', on Royalgames,
asking if it's you (from GDG).

Our weather is still temps in the 60s and 70s with rain, rain and lots of rain.
I'm not sure if I'm about to float away or if I'm about to sink Confused Smile
Sounds like you may be snowed in for the New Year, Gloria.
Since the snow you're expecting today will be the 2nd one for you,
you can make some Snow Cream and snuggle up with a good book.
(We were always told to wait for the 2nd snow to make Snow Cream)
Supposedly the 1st snow cleans the impurities out of the air
and makes the 2nd snow safe to eat.
I always said 'Whatever'......when we were still in school
if we didn't eat it as Snow Cream the 1st snow
we ate it during the snowball fights we had Smile Smile
and we're all still here Smile Smile

Well...GDG is going so slow I can't get anywhere.
I'm also back to having the 'HOME' page issues,
I can get there through the back door,
but once I do get there I can't see the 'HOME' column.
That's where our messages are located.
So if anyone has sent me a message in the last few days,
I haven't ignored you, I just can't see it...hopefully that won't last long.

I guess lots of us are having problems with a variety of GDG games. Someone somewhere was hoping that there is still one person watching over this game site. Oh, I wish that was the case. I don't think anyone is doing any more than selling advertising for the games, but I don't know that for a fact. The last we heard from Brian was that he isn't assigned to GDG any more. He can play the games just like anyone with Internet can.
ConnieLea, if I were to send you a message through the common route from "My Page" I wouldn't be at all surprised if you didn't reply. I wouldn't take it personally.[color=red]As a matter of fact, as a therapist I'm often suggesting to my clients that they not take anything personally. That's one of the keys to understanding human behavior. Nothing anyone does is about me. Everyone behaves in ways that make sense according to their backgrounds and the things that motivate them. When we really see other people as they are without taking it personally, we can never be hurt by what they say or do. Healing is on the way, and it's just a matter of time before things will be better for you. You are never responsible for the actions of others; you are only responsible for you. This is wisdom from the book "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz and it must be available in any public library. It's the most significant book I've ever read. It's just full of insight and wisdom. Just skip over the first chapter which is kind of difficult to get through.

I've been playing here for so long I just hate that it's this way now.
Gloria, your words are volumes of wisdom.
I'll have to remember to look at the book you mentioned.

There are a few things I've learned in life. Maybe it would be a good idea to ask people for words of wisdom, something they have learned through this journey of life.
Never take anything personally.

Live within your means, especially financial means. Almost nothing is worth going into debt to have. It's very difficult to be happy and content if you're in debt.
Save for the inevitable emergencies. The more you can save, the better. These days you won't get any interest from the bank, so you are saving not to make more money but to have something available when an unexpected expense comes up. Those unexpected things will definitely come up.
Never give in to anyone who is pouting. It will only guarantee that they will pout again to get their way or get the attention they want. Giving in to pouting makes you miserable because you're having to deal with an immature person who blames others for their unhappiness.
Learn all you can, even about subjects you don't think you'll need to know about. You'll probably be surprised that later on you'll be quite happy you learned about something that is now a subject of interest to you.

ConnieLea, I'm delighted to hear you got to play one of your favorite games all the way through. I'm sure that was a happy moment in your day. Sometimes it's the little things that count.
As for not getting onto your Home Page, I hope that will come through again. There's nothing to lose by checking it every now and then.
Well, it's SPRING!! The temperatures are warming up. Someone around here was mowing their lawn. That was a first for this year. Very Happy

I was tickled when I got all the way through the game.
I do check to see if I can access the 'My Page' every day,
so far the only way is thru the 'back' door (using 'search' on a friends page)
My son in law mowed part of my yard last weekend,
the lower part is still too wet for the weight of the mower.
We've had some really warm days until the last week and a half.
It's been way cooler, I figured Dogwood winter was why.
When I looked today my moms Dogwood tree has bloomed.
Next will be the cold snap for the blackberries to bloom.

Maybe some of us have inquiring minds and want to know what a Dogwood winter is. It's not a term I've heard before. Smile
