Great list!

I learned more about chocolate being poisonous to dogs after mine ate a small bag of M&M's, bag and all. The cocoa content of the chocolate is very important. Milk Chocolate, like M&Ms, doesn't have a very high cocoa content, so if your dog eats a small amount of Milk chocolate, it probably won't be cause for alarm unless your dog is tiny. But dark chocolate is bad, and unsweetened baking chocolate or cocoa powder is the most poisonous, so be extra-careful with those around your pets!

30. Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying!

Also, if you wear soft contact lenses, you will not 'cry' while working with onions. Got this one from personal experience. Smile

Editing to add.....

23. A tiny amount of liquor on a scorpion will make it instantly go mad and sting itself to death

Will have to try this one next time one of those nasty critters gets in the house.

I can just imagine someone trying to douse one of those guys and getting stung in the process. Yikes!

Anyone with other interesting facts or tidbits of info along these same lines?

Thanks for sharing!

Believe me, I have lived in the desert long enough to have a very healthy respect for the poisonous critters that live here. I was thinking maybe just pouring out of the bottle in the escape route next time I spot one. If that doesn't work, then I have the bottle in hand for a big chug to calm my nerves. LOL

There's some really interesting stuff there, elcelcpa. Thanks for sharing.
But I must add that the name Wendy was not made up by JM Barrie, although he did make it more common. Have a look at this, it's interesting reading. http://www.wendy.com/wendyweb/history.html

Chocolate is not the only thing that dogs shouldn't eat...my uncle's Jack Russel Terrier ate most of an avocado and almost died, and macadamia nuts are highly toxic to dogs, so avoid the guacamole and absolutely NO MACADAMIA NUTS!!!

Neener, Sassie, Frisky, rouge, Brian and tyedye,

I am enjoying reading the additional info on these little tidbits of 'facts'.
A person sees these lists every so often and makes you wonder, "how much of this is actually true?"

Thanks for all the additions everyone! So what else should I know??!

I will add one today:
If you ever have lab drawn, there are two reasons to hold pressure with the cotton ball after they have drawn your blood:
1. Helps stop the bleeding (of course)
2. A person won't bruise as bad at the site of the venipuncture if you hold pressure for a minute or two.

I am hoping for more interesting facts and tidbits from our fellow forumites!
