Have had no problems with the game site till 1 1/2 days ago. Now when a game is completed I have to refresh my page to get my scores, treats and a new game. I'm using Firefox on a Mac 10.4. I've made no changes since everything worked so well from the time I joined.

Sorry you've been having trouble. I've moved this topic to the Technical Help section.

Please follow each of the steps below:

1: Clear your browser cache and restart your browser
Temporary internet files and cookies can interfere with games and other applications. Visit the following link and click on the name of your browser for specific instructions on clearing the cache:
http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

2: Update to the latest version of your internet browser
You can find download links for the latest versions of the most popular internet browsers at the following pages:
Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com
Google Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome
Microsoft Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft.com/ie

3: Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
This is the software that all of our games require. It must be kept up-to-date with the latest version.
Click on this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Then click on “Download Now” and follow the instructions on the following page.

4: Turn off any add-ons or extensions your browser has activated, especially any ad-blocking software, which will definitely have an effect on the way our games are displayed in your browser.

Let me know if these help out, thanks for playing on Great Day Games!

Thanx Brian. It is now working.

Question. Have your techies made any changes lately that require the ad blocker to be disabled. As I may have mentioned, I have had no problems with this site since joining until about 4 days ago when I encountered the problems as per previous post? Just curious!

I don't know of any specific upgrade we made that would require ad blocker to be disabled, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a goal of our developers or our sponsors.

Ads are the only source of funding for Great Day Games, not to mention the only reason that I get paid! The companies that advertise on our site want their ads to be seen, since they are paying for them, so it is likely that the ads include a script that requires ad blocker to be disabled.

Brian, i play GDG games while I'm watching movies on my computer. i know i'm not the only one who does this on this site, and my gen-Y friends at school ALL multitask in a similar way. in general, online ads that have an audio track are problematic for multitaskers unless they are played before, during, or after a video clip. (i generally avoid sites that use talking ads like the plague.) games are a very different animal than video clips--they can be consumed simultaneously with other video entertainment--so the talking ads on this site might limit the expansion of your market. i hope not--i did my share of startups, and i'd like to see GDG succeed wildly!
