For free, if you have a computer, you can watch an excellent movie on YouTube about a young lady in Germany who stood up to the powerful Nazi regime during World War II. It's a riveting story and has a message for us in these times in the United States. Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baRvF6ZBK18 The title is "Sophie Scholl: The Final Days."

Watched a good one on Netflix, 'You Get Me'.
It's about teenagers, it's a thriller type movie.
Not for younger kids, maybe 14/15 and over.
Also watched Wild Hogs' again.
It has John Travolta and Tim Allen as bikers on a road trip.
I laughed myself silly watching it.
It's getting closer & closer to March 16th...
I can hardly wait for 'I Can Only Imagine' to hit theaters.

ConnieLea, I just looked at the previews of "I Can Only Imagine" on IMDB. It looks like a very touching movie. Make sure to bring lots of tissues. (I am a huge Dennis Quaid fan).

Dennis Quaid was really good in this movie.
John Michael Finley as Bart Millard is really good too.
It is his first movie roll and he nailed it.

Gloria, you can watch the trailer on IMDB.
Bart Millard's mother left the family when he was 10 years old.
He was left with an abusive father who was diagnosed with cancer
during Bart's high school years.
His father changed after that when he found Christ.
Bart says God changed him (his father) from a monster, a man he hated,
into his best friend, the man he wanted to become.
He (Bart) said he knew then that if God
could change his father he could do anything.
Bart Millard is the lead singer in the band MercyMe.
Later he wrote the song 'I Can Only Imagine' for his father.
It has become the #1 played contemporary Christian song in the world.
It's also the first song I've requested of my daughter to play when I pass.
If you've never heard it, go to YouTube and put in the search bar
"I Can Only Imagine, lyrics" and read the words as you listen to the song.

This afternoon we went to see A Man of His Word.
It is the story of Pope Francis and how he sees his role as leader of the Roman Catholic Church. I am not a Catholic but I certainly admire this man. It is not my goal to offend anyone here, so please forgive me if I do without meaning to. In my opinion, the movie shows how he sees Christianity and how to live that out by serving the poor and protecting our planet from abuse. How inspiring. This movie contains no exciting car chases or thrilling gun battles. But I think most people would leave feeling that was a very meaningful use of their time.

Gloria, I'm so sure that you'd enjoy seeing 'I Can Only Imagine'.

I watched 'Never Back Down' this week.
It's good, but it is about fighting.
There are some lessons and messages in it, but they are subtle.
Most people watching would miss them all together Smile Smile
just because they were watching for the fighting Smile Smile

ConnieLea, I have "I Can Only Imagine" on my list of must-see movies this year. I am hoping Amazon Prime will start to offer it. I don't subscribe to any of the movie sources, such as NetFlix. I had that for a while but realized I just don't watch enough movies to make it worthwhile. I'd rather read or play games on GDG than watch movies, I guess. Very Happy It does sound like a movie that I'd really enjoy. Thank you so much for suggesting it. You're a good friend who I've never met, ConnieLea!

For anyone that is interested in seeing the movie
'I Can Only Imagine' it is playing on Hulu this month.

If you are a fan of Dennis Quaid you'll love him in this movie.
John Michael Finley, in his first acting roll, as Bart Millard does a great job.
It was hard to believe it was his first roll in a movie.
The movie is fast becoming the number one selling DVD
in America
since its release.

Here are the lyrics to the song that inspired the movie......

I Can Only Imagine
by the band MercyMe

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When you face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Surrounded by You glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
When I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I would do is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine hey ya ah

Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine hey ya ah

I can only imagine yeah yeah
I can only imagine

I can only imagine ey ey ey
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine
.

Dennis Quaid also wrote a song for the film,
'On My Way to Heaven'
