The sheer number of commercials running at the same time as games are making messages come up on my screen that warn, "This script is causing your computer to operate slowly and it may stop at any time." I had to quit playing GDG on my laptop because it was burning up and freezing/crashing. And I was only playing SOLITAIRE, for Christ's sake!!!

You have GOT to stop running animated ads or gifs at the same time as when a game is running. Static ads are one thing, but this constant movement on every side takes up memory needed by computer apps to run games properly. PLEASE make it stop.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????

I am wondering if this is why, all of a sudden, my flash player has started "crashing" during my game?

My flash is up-to-date so that's not it.

I have checked all of my settings.........nothing to be found that could cause it.

I do have ad-blocker, so I don't see the ads, but there has been a definite lag before n after games... but now, during my games, there is "lag" "stoppage" that never happened before....

When did these ads, to which y'all are referring, start? Recently?

lovescountry, it's not an ad...it's a warning that pops up on your screen.
I have also seen one like this...
'Due to a long running script _____ is not responding.
Do you wish to stop the script'
.
You fill in the blank with whatever site you choose to.
Cherry_Carver says it's caused by so many ads running at the same time.
I'm not computer savvy enough to know why it happens.
Maybe GDG Brian will come along and respond to this thread one day.

Cherry_carver is talking about the animated ads---that play alongside the game screen----I notice a difference when the ad changes too---but when the ad is flashing I have a pause in my dillos flight--which doesnt matter if I have already hit it but when it is coming at me---I end up with misses and fouls----I also have noticed more jerky halting games during the flashing ads. I truly thought my flash player was going bad but I see a correlation between the ads and performance.

Earlier today when I was playing SA
it seemed like it was in stop motion.
All of the armadillos would just hang there in the sky for the longest time.
Then they would carry on as if nothing had happened.
It could have had something to do with flashing ads.
I had never really thought about it.

I've suffered the same problem with the result that I couldn't stop the running script and had to power down my laptop and reboot, taking nearly ten minutes turnaround time. Don't expect any improvement, though...it is ALL about the advertisers, with no real interest in the problems their ads cause the users here. Jus' sayin'.

Well...maybe GDG Brian will pop into this thread
(someday) and check on those types of ads.
We can hope anyway.

Mine has frozen up at times,
but usually if I'm patient it unfreezes in just a minute or two.
If it doesn't do it quick enough for me
I end the session on the Task Manager
and go back to my home page then on to GDG.

Thanks to everyone for reporting these problems - I've been looking in to this, but so far I still don't have an answer, since I'm not seeing these problems on our test systems yet.

If you are experiencing these issues, can you please post the text of the error you see when it freezes, and also please post your exact browser version?

If you're not sure what browser version you are using, go to http://supportdetails.com/ and copy the information under the "Web browser" section.

Thanks, sorry for the problems!

Cherry_Carver says the ads are the reason this message comes up;
"This script is causing your computer to operate slowly
and it may stop at any time."

But I think it actually says "This game is not responding
due to a long running script.Would you like to stop the script?"

I haven't seen it on the game that I referred to as lagging when I play it.
The only game I've had trouble with lagging is SA,
and I don't know if there are flashing ads to the side of the game or not,
I've not paid attention enough to notice what's playing to the side.
If I play several games of SA back to back the fan on my computer
gets really loud and sounds like it is an engine taking off.
Twice (different days) it has lagged while I was playing the game.
Kind of like the armadillos just hang in the air for a little bit
before continuing their flight, not just once, but several times
during their flight, and coming to a stop.
I may have tried to explain in too much depth,
but I did so where GDG Brian would know what I was talking about.
