We had the dryest December on record here in Utah. Please, please send us some snow. The ski areas can make snow for skiers but it just ain't the same. Remember me telling you that I had four feet of snow in my yard this time last year? A pathetic 4" adorns the lawn now.
Hopefully, now that the Sundance Film Festival has arrived in our little town along with traffic congestion and 1000 Californians (who don't know about snow) driving Suburbans, it will snow.
And speaking of film, if you get a chance to see Ethyl, a documentary about Ethyl (and Bobby) Kennedy, don't miss it. Hopefully it will show up on PBS this year. |

We got 2 inches of snow yesterday, then a bit of ice on top of that.
Today, it is melting off.
We are having a very strange winter here... |

Yippee!! 10 inches of The Greatest Snow on Earth (yes Virginia, that is our slogan here in Utah) in my yard.
Anyway, we finally got a significant snow storm and it is very exciting. The town is once again looking like a picture postcard, plus we might have some water in the reservoirs for summer use. Almost makes me want to dig out the old skis...or maybe just toss a snowball or two!! |

Been camping for a couple of weeks. Great weather except for wind. After 5 days on the San Rafael Swell (central Utah) my clothes, trailer and teeth are full of red dust!
Glad to return to the mountains where we're still in the 60's with blossoms just now popping out. |

Jules, Sounds like it was a good time... except for all the red dirt in all your crevasses, nooks, and crannies.
I'm sure there is something healing and nutritious in all that red dust.
Take Care! ElCee |

We are surrounded by fires. Ash is falling on our deck and the closest fire is forty miles away. The sun is dark orange and the blue sky has faded to gray.
Homes have burned down and many people evacuated. The air is smoky and people with lung problems are having a tough time.
Of course, Utah is just one of the western states that is on fire.
Pretty scary.
Now I'm hearing that many people in the "east" are out of power and suffering from the heat.
Someone must be out there with lovely weather and enough rain - tell me where you are and I'll be in the car and on my way! |
