| I see we have spider solitaire coming up. It was the bonus game last week. Pegland is coming up, it was also recently the bonus game. As was real mess which was the bonus game a couple days ago. Nothing but repeats every week. I am at the point now that I don't care anymore what they do. I now play about 20% as much as I used to and it will probably drop more. Since GDG is more concerned about working on their social site than they are maintaining what they already have, I have a solution. I think GDG should give Jindog administrator access so he can change the bonus game for people who don't want to play the same 4 or 5 games week after week. |

Some players like to see popular games repeated more than a few times a year. Other players, like you, would prefer to see completely different games every single day of the year.
Clearly, we can't please everyone, so we just allow our program to choose randomly. If there is a problem with the selection that we need to fix, we will manually change the game to one of our most popular games based on traffic statistics. |

Boy Hammer, now you lit the fuse. I do agree with you though.
With Administrator powers granted to me I would change the 10x game TO CHANGE EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR. That would be 24 fresh games every day to be played at 10x. There could be no monopolizing the treat totals by playing constantly the same game for hours on end. No more warning on what is coming when, just a simple tune in and "play it baby" in the time frame allowed, though a gamer could figure out what time their game is going to appear. Plus it would really keep people playing at all hours just for the chance to play their favorite game with 10x options. Plus at 24 games per day and a weekly rate of 168 fresh games that gets pretty darn close to having your favorite game at least once a week playing at 10x. From 3-Point Shootout to Word Search 2 a steady repeating of the order would enable everyone the chance to play their favorite game at least once in a 6 month period, if not sooner. No more leaving the random decision making to the mood swings of a computer.
Gosh I think this is such a great idea I just came up with I think I will post it to the Suggestions category of the forums. Oh that's right this is the Suggestions category.
OK! Well there you have it Brian, take it away. |

| Changing the bonus game to games based on traffic statistics will make it the same all the time. When a game is the bonus game the traffic statistics will be high so naturally the same games will continue to be selected. |

| Excellent point Hammer. I guess eventually at the rate this is going GDG will realize there is only one game (based on traffic statistics) that is popular here because it will always be the 10x game of the day. (And everyone will only play it.) Talk about self-realizing conclusions. |

Hammer and Jin: Both of you make very good points.
I'll bet Brian and Arky1 didn't think of the 10x statistics perpetuating itself like that. Makes sense though.
I am offering yet another suggestion-- maybe in jest-- maybe not.
Mr. Brian:
How about making one of your prizes "GDG Administrator for a Day" ???
Wouldn't that be grand to have some power other than posting on forums for a whole day??
I would gamble off a few treats for the opportunity to have my name in blinking lights with "administrator" title on the home page.
Of course, I would likely have to call in sick to work that day just so I could bask in all that administrative power.
And... there is a possibility it would go to my head and make me intolerable and giddy.
Oh, wait... some people already think that of me.
Oh, well. Just a suggestion.

| Just to clarify - the computer does not choose the games based on popularity. If we have to adjust the games manually due to a temporary error, we choose popular games, but for most days, it is a completely random choice by the computer, so there is no way we'll see the choices converge on just one game. |

| It is amazing the computer picks Sparks every week and slots treasure chest 3 days in a row. Anyway when I said I don't care anymore I meant it. I have averaged 281,770 treats a week for the entire year. Now I am down to about 20,000. I am now just playing for scores and trying to figure out how to play games that I am not very good at. I am no longer playing for treats so I don't care what it is. If it is a game I really like I will probably play it. If not I won't. One last thing. You said that some players prefer a game a few times or more a year and I want a different game every day. That is not exactly true. I wouldn't mind a game a few times a year but the same game every week or every other week is a bit much. |

happy 2012, everyone!
i guess i'm a contrarian. i like it when popular games show up more often. i'd play a different flavor of mahjongg dimensions everyday if they were the 10x games.
i've stopped playing for treats, too. that gets old after awhile. now i just play my favorite games, and maybe try something new when it shows up as the bonus game. |
