| It would be nice to see from everyone when he/she entered GDG as a member. so if GDG has this date in their datbase it would be great to enter this date or the number of days till today. |

I HAVE ALSO WONDERED IF THERE WAS SOMEWHERE THAT ONE COULD SEE HOW LONG ONE HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF
GREAT DAY GAMES.
NOT THAT IT'S ANY OF MY BUSINESS REALLY...BUT CAN'T HELP WONDERING WHEN VISITING FRIENDS PAGES IF THEY'VE BEEN WITH GDG's AS LONG OR LONGER THAN I HAVE.
CURIOSITY IS ALL IT AMOUNTS TO.
I THINK IT WOULD BE A NICE ADDITION TO THE SITE.   |

LOOKING OVER SOME OLD POSTS AND RAN ACROSS THIS ONE,BRIAN.

| ConnieLea, I do believe GDG is presently at work on another major update to the site. Possibly (no promises here) many of our requests will be included at that time. I know they don't tend to do minor adjustments to the site unless needed for whatever reason. |

 YEAH,I KNOW IT'S NOT A BIGGIE,BUT IT WOULD BE A COOL PERK.AND I JUST THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T HURT TO GIVE IT A PUSH TO THE TOP AGAIN.
IT'S LIKE SOME OF THE OTHER STUFF I PUSHED BACK UP LAST TIME I WAS IN THE FORUMS.

Have y'all noticed that the date you joined GDG is under your name when you post here in the Forum (along with how many posts you've made)? Or is that not what you're looking for?
Oh......I guess what you want is to be able to look someone up & see their date. I realized that as I typed this first part, but I figured I'd go ahead & post this. It is a date.... |

I WAS TOLD THAT THIS ISN'T THE DATE THAT YOU REGISTERED WITH GDG,THAT IT IS THE DATE YOU FIRST POSTED IN THE FORUMS.
THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT YOU ARE RIGHT,I'D JUST LIKE TO KNOW FOR SURE......AND ALSO TO BE ABLE TO SEE PLAYERS 'JOINING' DATE WHEN I VISIT THEIR PAGE.
MAYBE SOMEDAY I'LL GET AN ANSWER(maybe not)

You are VERY CORRECT ConnieLea. The "JOINED" date on the forums is the day you first posted on the forum.
Looking at my date, it says I joined Feb. 27th of 2010.
But that is NOT the date I registered and played my first game on GDG.
I registered and became a member of GDG on February 24th of 2010. |

I MIGHT HAVE SAVED MY E-MAIL CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION WHEN GDG SENT IT TO ME.I BELIEVE IT SHOULD HAVE THE DATE ON IT.
I HADN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THAT TILL JUST NOW.
I STILL THINK IT'D BE COOL TO SEE HOW LONG A PLAYER HAS BEEN HERE WHEN YOU VISIT THEIR PAGE.
BTW...HOW DID YOU FIGURE OUT THAT THE DATE SHOWING HERE ON A POST WAS THE FIRST TIME YOU POSTED...
CAUSE I SURELY WOULDN'T REMEMBER WHEN I MADE MY FIRST POST.
I'M SURE I DIDN'T POST AS SOON AFTER I JOINED GDG AS YOU DID

I used the back button on the calendar on my profile page to find the first day I played a game.

This forum uses a simple phpBB script, so the first time your account makes a post it automatically creates a member profile, which writes to a log. The phpBB script uses this info for many things including a database for the forum search and admin panel.
The phpBB script cannot log a join date based on the root file (main site), it can only log a join date when the person first accessed the phpBB script (forum). Thus the reason the join dates will be different for both.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Its the best I can explain it. |
